the Rammohan Library on Tuesday evening. Dr. Rabindranath Tagore presided. Among those present were a number Indian ladies. Mr. Charu Bandyopadhly|aya. Assistant Editor of the “Modern Review” and “Probasi" in an extremely able and well-written paper recounted his reminiscences of the late poet and offered a critical estimate of his poctry. l Mr. P. N. Chaudhury in a neat little spcc.ch paid a glaring tribute to the sterling qualities which the illustrious deceased was cndowed with by providence. Kaji Nazrul Islam then read a poem as a tribute to the memory of the latc poet. DR. TAGORE'S SPEECH Dr. Tagore in course of his speech said that the death of Satyendranath has left a gap on his heart and he considered it as his own personal loss. He was so closely relatcd to the deceased in regard to his high literary attainments that he not only admired him but loved him. Dr. Tagore not only adored him for his poetic instincts but the one peculiar trait in his character attracted him most and that was the illustrious deceased wis I'l seeking after the truth in everything and in that direction he was singularly successful.
