Reading recently in the pages of Visva-Bharati News Mr. Khitibhusan [Kshitimohan] Sen's contribution regarding Dr. Tagore's personality, I seem to have caught an infection which urges me to add a word or two of mine own to enliven the portraiture. It was years ago when I met the Poet at Santiniketan at close quarters. Before that I had often heard of him and read his poetry— and who had not— but that was my first rencontre. He required no pointing out, for his pictures were so common and so broadcast that a look showed the original of the copies which I had so often seen and known.
