শীত ও অনাহার ও পরিশ্রমেতে আপনারদিগকে অতি ক্লান্ত বলিয়া বিদায় প্রার্থনা করাতে তাঁহারদিগকে সেকন্দরশাহ অনেক পুরস্কারপূর্ব্বক অন্যান্য তাবৎ অসুস্থ সৈন্যেরদিগকে সঙ্গে দিয়া স্ব২ বাটীতে প্রেরণ করিলেন। জিহূন নদী অতিআয়ত অথচ অতিবেগপ্রবাহ এবং তাহার তীর এমত বালুকাময় যে তাহাতে কোন সাঁকোর পত্তন হইতে পারিত না। অতএব অত্যন্ত আয়াসপূর্ব্বক সেকন্দরশাহ ও তাঁহার সৈন্যেরা এক প্রকার মশক অবলম্বন করিয়া নদী উত্তীর্ণ হইলেন। পরে পঁহুছিলে বেশসের কুসঙ্গি লােকেরা তাঁহাকে সেকন্দর শাহের হস্তে সমর্পণ করিল এবং তিনি তাহাকে অত্যন্ত অপমানপূর্ব্বক কোড়া মারিয়া চরম দণ্ডের প্রতীক্ষার্থ বাক্ত্রিয়া দেশে প্রেরণ করিলেন। তদন্তর সেকন্দরশাহ উত্তর দিগে গমন করত সিহূন নদীর তীরে পঁহুছিলে তাঁহার পশ্চাদ্দিগে সগডিয়ানা প্রদেশে রাজবিদ্রোহ ব্যাপার উপস্থিত তাহাতে অতিশীঘ্র তথাহইতে প্রত্যাগমন
