তে পােরস স্বীয় তাবৎ সৈন্যসমভিব্যাহারে অতিসাহসে সেকন্দরশাহের প্রতি আক্রমণ করিলেন। তাঁহারদের যুদ্ধ অতিসংঘাতক দীর্ঘকাল ব্যাপিয়া প্রাণপণে হইতে লাগিল পরিশেষে সেকন্দরশাহের প্রাচীন সাহসিক সৈন্যেরা তাবৎ বাধা উত্তীর্ণ হইয়া জয়ী হইল। ভারতবর্ষীয় পােরসের সৈন্যেরা গোলমালে পতিত হইয়া পলায়ন করিল। পােরস সেকন্দরশাহের হস্তগত হইলে সাহজিক সুস্বভাবানুসারে তাঁহার সঙ্গে অতি মহাত্মর রীতি ব্যবহার করিলেন ও তাঁহার যে রাজ্য জয় করিয়াছিলেন সে সমুদায় তাঁহাকে ফিরিয়াদিয়া তদরিক্ত জয়লব্ধ অন্যান্য দেশেরও কিঞ্চিৎ দিলেন। পরে সেকন্দরশাহ আরো অগ্রসর হইয়া চনাব ও রাবিনদী উত্তীর্ণ হইলে তদ্দেশীয় লােকেরা অস্ত্রশস্ত্র ধারণ না করিয়াই একেবারে ঐ জয়শীল ব্যক্তির অনুগত হইল কেবল শিঙ্গালাস্থানীয় কাথাই জাতীয়েরা প্রথমতঃ কিঞ্চিৎ অপকারী হইয়া পরে তাহ৷রাও বাধ্য হইল।
