নেরা দেখিলেন যে তদ্দেশে আমারদের অকপট সহ যােদ্ধা না থাকিলে কিছু হইতে পারে না। অতএব গ্রীকীয় নানা রাজারা ফিলিপের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধে প্রবর্ত্ত হন এই ভরসায় রোমানের। ওলিম্পিয়ার উৎসব সময়ে তাবৎ গ্রীক দেশ স্ববশ হয় এমত ঘোষণা করিলেন এবং ঐ মহােৎসব সময়ে দেশের চতুর্দ্দিগহইতে যে মহা জনতা সমাগত হইয়াছিল তাহারা ঐ ঘােষণা শুনিয়া ধন্যবাদ ধ্বনিতে একেবারে গগণ স্পর্শ করাইল। পরে এই নূতন সহযোদ্ধার সাহায্যে রোমানেরা অতিপ্রবল হইয়া খ্রীষ্টীয়ান শকের ১৯৭ বৎসর পূর্ব্বে ক্যুনোসিফালের যুদ্ধে ফিলিপকে একেবারে নতমস্তক করিলেন অতএব রােমানেরদের সঙ্গে ফিলিপের সন্ধি করিতে হইল। ঐ সন্ধির নিয়মের দ্বারা গ্রীকদেশে তাঁহার সপক্ষ যে সকল লোক ছিল তাহারা তাঁহার হাত ছাড়া হইল এবং তাঁহার সৈন্যের শ্রেষ্ঠাংশ ও তাঁহার তাবৎ যুদ্ধ জাহাজ কাড়িয়া লওয়া গেল এবং তাঁহার অর্থেরও অনেক অপচয়
