য়াতে রাজার পরাক্রম বিষয়ে ঈর্ষী হইয়া একটা ঝটকার সুযােগে তাঁহাকে হত করেন এবং লোকেরদের মধ্যে এমত জল্পনা করেন যে তিনি ঐ ঝটকাতে দেবতারদেরকর্ত্তৃক গৃহীত হইলেন। অতএব রোমানেরা যাহারদিগকে পৃথিবীর মধ্যে সহিতে না পারিতেন তাহারদিগকে এইরূপে স্বর্গীয় দেবতা করিতেন এই ব্যবহার এইক্ষণে প্রথম দৃষ্ট হইল এবং পরেও মধ্যে২ এমত বিষয় দেখা গেল। রম্যুলস সাঁইত্রিশ বৎসর রাজ্য করিলেন। রােম নগর পত্তন হওনের কিঞ্চিৎ পর অস্ত্র ধারণের উপযুক্ত কেবল ৩,৩০০ লোক ছিল রম্যুলসের মৃত্যু সময়ে তাহারা বর্দ্ধিত হইয়া ৪৭,০০০ পর্য্যন্ত হইল।
