নানা সুবা আপনারদের মধ্যে বণ্টন করিয়া লইলেন। এবং ব্রুটস ও কাসিয়স ও অন্যান্য যাঁহারা কাইসরকে হতকরণের অংশী ছিলেন এবং রাজ্যের পুরাতন রীতির পুনঃ স্থাপনেচ্ছুক ছিলেন তাঁহারদিগকে বিনষ্ট করিতে নিশ্চয় করিলেন। অনন্তর আপনারদের নিজ শত্রুরদিগকে খুন করণার্থ তাহারদের নামাঙ্কিত করিতে বসিলেন। এবং তিন শত রাজসভ্যগণ ও দুই হাজার অশ্বারূঢ় জাতীয় এবং অতিমান্য শিষ্ট বিশিষ্ট ভূরি২ ভদ্র লোকের হত্যা করিতে অবধারণ করিলেন। বাক্পটুতা ও রাজনীতিজ্ঞতা বিষয়ে অতিবিখ্যাত শিসেরো অকটাবিয়সের মিত্র হইলেও তৎকর্ত্তৃক আণ্টোনির রাগের তৃপ্তি করনার্থ তাঁহার হস্তে অর্পিত হইলেন এবং যাঁহারা এই বিদ্যালঙ্কার ব্যক্তির বিনাশার্থ প্রেরিত হন তাঁহারদের দ্বারাই তিনি হত হইলেন। পরে তাঁহার মস্তকচ্ছেদন করিয়া আণ্টোনির দুষ্টা স্ত্রী ফলবিয়ার নিকটে আনীত হইল। তিনি তাহা দেখিয়া আপনার চক্ষুর সাধ
