উভয় নিষ্পাপরূপে সুখে কাল যাপন করিলেন পরে আপনারদের স্রষ্টার আজ্ঞোলঙ্ঘন করাতে তাঁহারা ঈশ্বরের কৃপার বহির্ভূত হইয়া আপনারদিগকে ও আপনারদের সন্তানেরদিগকে দুঃখে মগ্ন করিলেন। এতদ্রূপে পৃথিবীর মধ্যে পাপ প্রবেশ করিল এবং নিষ্পাপিত্ব লুপ্ত হইল। মনুষ্য জাতীয়ের এই প্রথমকাল তর্থাৎ নিষ্পাপিত্বকালের কিঞ্চিৎ২ প্রবাদ তাবদ্দেশীয়েরদের মধ্যেই আছে। হিন্দুরদের মধ্যে তাহা সত্যযুগ কহা যায় গ্রীকেরদের মধ্যে তাহা সুবর্ণকাল কহা যাইত।
