For some time past various questions intimately connected with life in villages have been discussed by representatives of the people with local officers of Government and local bodies at Thana Co-operation meetings. Re-orientation of agricultural methods in the district, establishment of seed stores and nonofficial demonstration farms, improvement of agriculture by substituting suitable crops for high lands, facilities for irrigation and improvement of drinking water supply, improvement of cattle, better co-ordination between officers and people for improvement of sanitation, health and hygiene, measures for preservation of forests as an important factor in the aganic resources of the people, more extensive cultivation of Rabi' and subsidiary crops, growth of orchards, closer co-operation among villagers for preservation of law and order and prevention of crime and measures for substituting harmonious Go-operation based on sympathy, love and fellow feeling ih place of petty jealousies and village cliques, have been among the subjects discussed at such meetings.
