ডাক্তার যতীন্দ্ৰনাথ মৈত্র 8brt may justly be proud; my Mahomedan friends have inherited social laws which contemplate no differential treatment. Why then should they insist on differential treatment, safeguards and reservation in political life? If they have stood the test of centuries with their heads erect, there is no power on earth to check their onward march in future. Both of us, Hindus and Mohomedans, should realise once for all that united we stand but divided we fall. Instead of dissipating our energies by quarrelling over loaves and fishes everyone of us should strive hard to be fit for the struggle for existence so as to make it possible for both of us to proclaim to the world that we claim merit, we claim efficiency, we claim valour, we claim honesty, we claim sincerity, and above all, we claim unflinching devotion to God and I am sure God will not deny us. His favours in enabling us to realise our ends. be they for political gains or for spiritual salvation.
