The late Mr. Mitra was in failing health for the past 2 years and had to retire as the Treasury officer of the Calcutta Collectorate and after his retirement he was appointed an Hony. Presidency Magistrate of Calcutta. He married a daughter of the late Raja Gopendra Srishna Deb Bahadur ail was the third son of the late Mr. Harish Chandra Mitra, a great scholar of his time. IIe leaves behind his widow, seven sons, four of whom are well-placed in life and two daughters and several grand children and a host of relations and friends to mourn his loss.
