Roy বংশপরিচয় । 1933-34. Mr. Paterson, the late Chairman, left the following remarks about Rai Sahib during his resignation :- 'I should like particularly to thank Rai Sahib J. N. Banerjea for his 1byal and unfailing help in all difficulties and for his valuable advice on all troublesome questions.' "Mr. Paterson had a very high opinion of the worthy Vice-Chairman and commended him at the first meeting of the New Board by dwelling at length on his good attributes, his vast experience and his admirable public spirit and self-sacrifice. I fully endorse the above statement and opinion of my predecessor Major J. D. Patersson, W. D. who has proceeded Home on leave.' ( Sd/- A. Johnston. Chairman. 25.7. 34. Mr. C. D. Leitch who succecded Mr. Johnston during his leave remarked the following regarding Rai Sahib and his History of the town "I fully endorse the above statements and opinions of my predecessors and I have much pleasure in adding a little about what I saw of the worthy Vice-Chairman during the short time 1 have been in the office.
