579 বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ দলিল : চতুর্থ খন্ড জনসাধারণ সব সময়েই উন্মুখ হয়ে থাকতো। এতে পরবর্তী সময়সূচী পালনে বিলম্ব ঘটতো, কিম্বা সম্ভবও হতো না। প্রত্যেক গ্রাম এমন কি থান হিসেবে ঘটনা আর নির্যাতনের কথা উল্লেখ করলে এক বিরাট ইতিহাস রচনা করা যাবে। যা দেখছি তার একটা মোটামুটি ধারণা হিসাবে এটাই বলতে হয় যে, উৎপীড়ন, নৃশংস হত্যা, পাশবিক অত্যাচার আর নৈরাজ্যের এক নজিরবিহীন ইতিহাস পাকিস্তানের সামরিক জান্তা রেখে গেছে। আমরা যে সমস্ত জায়গায় গেছি সে সমস্ত এলাকার লোকদের জাতি-ধর্ম-বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে সভায় আহবান জানিয়েছি, তাদের অভাব অভিযোগ নিয়েছি এবং ভবিষ্যতে যাতে তার পুনরাবৃত্তি না ঘটে সে ব্যাপারে আশা দিয়েছি। বৌদ্ধ গ্রাম ছাড়া আমরা অনেক হিন্দু ও মুসলমান গ্রামেও সভা করে তাদের সাথে মিলিত হয়েছি। স্বচক্ষে দৃষ্ট অত্যাচারের প্রত্যেকটা বিষয়ে আমি স্থানীয় এবং কেন্দ্রীয় কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করাই এবং লিখিতভাবে তা পেশ করি। এটা স্থিরনিশ্চিত যে, আমিই আমার সংঘকে নিয়ে সর্বপ্রথম (এবং সর্বশেষও) তাদেরই চোখে আংগুল দিয়ে দেখিয়ে দিই। আমার সংঘের তরফ থেকে আমিই তাদের সৃষ্ট রাজাকার, মুজাহিদ, আল-বদর এমনকি নিয়মিত সৈন্যের বিরুদ্ধে নালিশ করি। এরা তথাকথিত শান্তির নামে যে অশান্তি, নৈরাজ্য ও লুটতরাজ, গ্রামের পর প্রাম জ্বালানো, ধর্মীয় প্রতিষ্ঠান ধ্বংসকরণ, নরহত্যা, নারী অপহরণ ও ধর্ষণ এবং তল্লশীর নামে প্রকাশ্যে স্ত্রীলোকদের সম্পূর্ণ উলংগ করে দেখা- এ সমস্ত আমি জানাই। সামরিক জান্তাকে দাখিলকৃত দু’একটা চিঠির অনুলিপি উদ্ধৃত করলাম।

When we were entering into the Main Buddhist Monastery of the aforesaid village, we could have heard the violent voices of looting by the Razakars in a corner of the village where about 14 houses were looted, inmates beaten mercilessly and five innocent persons taken......
উক্ত ব্যাপারে রাজাকারসহ মোট ১৭ জন দুৰ্বত্তকে গ্রেফতার করে বলে খবর পাই।
