km)○○ বাংরাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ দলিলপত্রঃ দ্বাদশ খন্ড The hon. Member are aware of the air intrusions that took place yesterday in the afternoon near Boyra about 30 miles North-East of Calcutta. Here, the hon. Member mentioned that the planes intruded 30 miles inside. It is not 30 miles they did not intrude 30 miles inside our territory. They came about a few kilometers. This incident took place 30 miles away from Calcutta. The details of the interception action taken by our Air Force are now available. Four Pakistani Sabres were seen approaching our border at about 14.49 hours. A mission of four Gnats was ordered to intercept them. The Pakistani aircraft intruded about 5 kilometers into Indian air space. They were successfully intercepted at 14.59 hour and chased away. In the engagement that took place, three of the four Sabres have been shot down. The Pakistani pilots baled out. Two of them, Flight-Lieut. Parvez Mehdi and Flg. Officer Khalil Ahmed are in our custody. Our Gnats sustained no damage and returned safely to their bases. The I.A.F. pilots who shot down these Sabres Fl.-Lt. Massey, Fl.-Lt.
