- Kemal A. Faruki is a graduate in social studies from the University of Southern California, a Barristerat Law from the middle Temple, London, and an M.A from the American University of Beirut (Lebanon) in Middle Eastern Studies. He is a practicing lawyer at the Karachi Bar, Adviser on Law to the Islamic Research Institute and a Professor at The .M. Law College, Karachi. He served as first Chairman of the Muslim Committee for Algeria formed in England during the Algerian War of independence, and has written numerous articles mainly on Islamic subjects for various periodicals. He has written four books on Islamic Legal and Constitutional questions: "Islamic Constitution" (1952); "Ijma and the Gate of Ijtihad" (1954); "Islamic Jurisprudence" (1962) and "The Evolution of Islamic Constitutional Theory and Practice" (1971)
