هله mis-nomer, presenting as it does, the flights of the author's poetical soul in the twilight region between this world and the next. In the section on fist, the different pieces serve beautifully to mirror the soul under-lying and informing Nature which has been always revealed to her true votary. In the section on সিন্ধু-সংবাদ, the sight of the sea with its vastness and majesty stirs up the deepest depth of the poet's soul and reveals the gems of "purest ray serene' glittering within. In S-sera, in the course of his ode to the Seasons, that clothe both man and nature with ever and ever changing garb, the poet has given us pieces some of which have an echo of Kalidas. In the pieces in RSFSR, the poets privileged ears have caught the unison of note sweet and sublime, with which all "eemingly diverse phenomena, both objective and subjective, are eternally and co-eternally vibrant. In the last section as, the poet strikes a note distinctly deeper and higher, and takes us through verse-strewn paths to the border-land where poetry ends and metaphysics begins. It is not often that one comes across productions breathing such genuine poetry flavoured with a spiritual aroma that not only delights the mind but charms the soul. We have nothing but un-alloyed admiration for the poet. (5.3. I9I4) “Chhayapath' is a natural continuation or rather the culmintion of the sentimants dominating in the authors “Godhuli. In this, the poet soars through the rosy twilight of "Godhuli", to the higher and resplendant realms of the Milky way--the vista, through which it is possible to obtain a glimmer of the "Eldorado' of all Sadhaks, poets and ascetics alike. There is an other-worldliness, a chastening halo about these poems which distinctly mark them out among the average poetical productions of the day. The poet's eye may have glanced from earth to heaven and from heaven to earth, but his soul is fast rivetted on Him who transcends all earths all heavens all poetry and all philosophy. The author has performed with remarkable credit the difficult feat of making the dry sticks of abstruse metaphysics blossom forth into delightful poetry.
