এবং ‘পঞ্চমী ঘাট’ নাম পঞ্চপাণ্ডবের বার বৎসর বনবাসের সময় এখানে স্নান হইতে হইয়াছে।[১]
এইভাবে সোণারগাঁর প্রাচীনত্ব সহজে অনুমান করিতে পারা যায়।
