The produce consists of paddy, indigo, and the usual cold weather crops.” (Hunter's Statistical Account of 24 pergs 1875). আইন আকবরীতে পূড়াই একটী মহাল বা পরগণা বলিয়া লিখিত আছে। তাহার পর সবফরাজপুর পরগণার স্বষ্টি হয়। পুড়ার নিকট সরফরাজপুর নামে একপানি গ্রামও আছে। নুরনগর—ইহা খুলনা জেলার অন্তর্গত সাতক্ষীরা (هه ۰ لا) উপবিভাগের অধীন একট পরগণা। প্রথমে উহা যশোরের অধীন ছিল, পরে ২৪ পরগণার অধীন হয়, এক্ষণে খুলনা জেলার অধীন।
