[ ১৬২ ] কুরনগর পরগণা নীলকণ্ঠ রায়ের ছোট রাণীর সন্তানদের ও খামসুন্দর রায়ের সন্তানদের জমিদারী। র্তাহারা ইহার প্রধান গ্রাম রামনগরে বাস করিয়া থাকেন। রামনগরকেও সাধারণে মুরনগর বা নুননগর বলিয় থাকে। ভবিষ্যপুরাণেও নুননগরের কথা আছে যথা— “উপপত্তনমেকঞ্চ নগরং ন্যূনপূৰ্ব্বকম।” মুরনগর পরগণা সম্বন্ধে Smyth সাহেব এইরূপ লিখিয়াছেন,– Pergunnahs Dhooleapoor, Noornugur, and ShahpoorThese Pergunnahs adjoining one another, are situated within the belt of land between the Jaboonah and Kalindee Rivers, which separate at Bussntupoor, in the Northern Part of Pergunnah Dhooleapoor, finding their way into the Soonderbunds at Puranpoor, on the southern extrimity of Pergunnah Noornuggur. About a mile below this point, the two rivers again approach one another, within a mile, after which they separate finally, finding different courses through the Soonderbunds. There is a passage through the Haldar Khal at Puranpoor for small boats from the Jaboonah to the Kalindee. The principal village in Pergunnah Dhooleapoor is Bussantpoor, situated at the confluence of the Kalindee and Jaboonah Rivers. It contains 109 houses and 224 adults. Bussantpoor, from its position, is of importance to the extensive traffic carried on with the Eastern Districts, as all boats put in here for provisions
