- ↑ “The late swindling case - We are glad to hear that the suggestion thrown out by us other day has been acted upon, at the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of Police have taken active steps in the case in which Babu * * * * Assistant Secretary of H. H. the Maharaja of * * was swindled out of a large sum of money. Owing to the indisfatigable exertions of the Detective Superintendent Mr. Johnstone and the Sub-Inspector Babu Priyanauth Mookerjee, the majority of the gang and the principal parties concerned in the swindling were arrested within a few hours of the receipt of warrants from the Presidency Magistrate's Court.”
