There is a world elsewhere.” আর ঐ দেখ, ম্যাকবেথ আকাশে উদিত ক্ষীণ নক্ষত্রপংক্তিকে মুখ ঢাকিতে বলিয়া, –স্থির ধরিত্রী তাহার-পদক্ষেপে যেন কম্পান্বিত, নিদ্রা যেন তাহাকে খড়গহস্ত দেখিয়া শিহরিত,--অনুভব করিয়া, চোরের হ্যায় রাজ-প্রাণনাশ মনস্থ করিয়া ছুটিল। সেই ভয়ঙ্কর কার্য্য অনুষ্ঠানের প্রাক্কালে একবার শুধু বলিয়া গেল,— Thou sure and firm-set earth Hear not my steps which way they walk, for fear Thy very stones prate of my whereabout. তাহার স্ত্রীও বলিয়াছিল,— Let not heaven peep through the blanket of the dark.
