I did not think of an appointment in the India Council, but of a headership in Indian History or in Sanskrit, in Cambridge, Oxford, or London, if my “History of India” makes a name for itself. Anything which will give me a position aud some little income over and above my pension, and will enable me to organise an Indian party to represent Indians' rights in England and Parliament.
