সৌন্দৰ্য্যের স্বরূপ। stre সমুদ্ভুত। বিজ্ঞানে, দর্শনে, স্থাপত্যে, ভাস্কর্ঘ্যে, চিত্র, সঙ্গীতে এবং কাব্যে মানবের ইচ্ছাশক্তির প্রয়োগ দেখা যায়। মানবের কার্য্য করার শক্তি, ইচ্ছাশক্তির প্রয়োগ হইতেই তাহার শক্তির জ্ঞান লাভ হইয়া থাকে। মানুষ যে শক্তি দ্বারা পরিবর্তন উপস্থিত করে সেই শক্তি চিন্ময়ী। সুতরাং বহির্জগতে যে শক্তি পরিবর্তন উপস্থিত করিতেছে। উহাও মূলতঃ চিন্ময়ী, এরূপ অনুমান করা অযৌক্তিক মনে হয় না। বৈজ্ঞানিকগণের কথিত এনার্জি চিন্ময়ী শক্তি না-ও হইতে পারে ; কারণ এনার্জি শক্তির কাৰ্য্য মাত্র। কিন্তু যে মহাশক্তি জড় জগতের মূল কারণরূপে বিদ্যমান আছেন, সেই শক্তি চিন্ময়ী,-এ বিষয়ে কোন সংশয় নাই। মানুষ নিজের শক্তি হইতেই যে, শক্তিসম্বন্ধীয় জ্ঞান লাভ করিয়া থাকে, কতিপয় প্ৰবীণ পণ্ডিত ইহা স্বীকার করিয়াছেন। পাঠকবর্গের অবগতির জন্য কয়েক জন পণ্ডিতের মত নিয়ে উদ্ধৃত করিয়া দেওয়া গেল। প্ৰসিদ্ধ জৰ্ম্মান দার্শনিক জেলার (Zeller) বলেন,- "When man begins to reflect on the grounds of things, the question of the why (warum) is forced upon him first by particular phenomena of the more striking kind, and in course of time by continually more of them, and in answer to this question the first notions of causality are formed; he is at the outset guided in this matter by no other clue than the analogy of his own willing and doing.
