228 HINDr UNIVERSITY মুলে স্যার গুরুদাস। ঐ দানে সুপুষ্ট ও সমৃদ্ধ হইয়া জাতীয় শিক্ষা পরিষদ আজি কলিকাতার অদূরবত্তী যাদবপুরে একশত বিঘা জমির উপর এক প্রকাণ্ড কারু বিদ্যালয় স্থাপন করিয়াছে ও পরিচালন করিতেছে। তাহার যন্ত্রশালা, বিজ্ঞানাগার, ওয়ার্কস সাপ, ছাত্রনিবাস প্রভৃতি দেখিবার জিনিষ। বড়ই আক্ষেপের বিষয় যে স্তার গুরুদাস স্বচক্ষে তাহার শ্রমের এই বিপুল সফলতা দেখিয়া যাইতে পারেন নাই। কিন্তু স্বৰ্গ ও মর্ত্ত্যে যদি সম্বন্ধ থাকে, তবে এইকথা নিঃসংশয়ে বলিতে পারি যে স্যার গুরুদাস আজ স্বপ্ত স্বর্গের উৰ্দ্ধতন লোক হইতে এই জাতীয় শিক্ষা পরিষদ ও তাহার সু-বিন্যস্ত, সুগঠিত, সুসজ্জিত শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রতি প্রতিনিয়ত আশীর্ব্বাদ বর্ষন क३ि८ङgछन्। শ্রীহীরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত। Hindu University Society. and Beneras Hindu University. E., tmc Vicersy lord Hardings on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the Scinate all of the Beneras Hindu University on the 4th lobruary 1916 gives the history of thc movement for the establishment of the University. "The history of the movemcit for the establishment of the University is briefly told. It carries us back to the year 1904, when at a mecting hold under the presidency of H. H. the Maharaja of Bcncras, tlhe proposal to found a Hindu University was first put forward.
