FIFTH (Kartick) NUMBER OF ANATHBANDHU," LGHT AND the East and dispels darkness and enables us to see objects clearly, so in the world of the mind our inner eye opens and enables us to see matters in their true colours as wisdom appears in the mind. Owing to the materialistic tendencies of the age which prevails in the human sphere, darkness is being increased to such an extent that we have lost the power to discern right from wrong, and to see what really is conducive to our health, peace, and prosperity in life and how at least to enjoy the short span of our life. On the other hand, we are endangering our very lives by taking adulterated food and getting addicted to luxuries. Do costly dresses give us health, peace and prosperity? lo costly jewels, furnitures and modish equipages, garden parties and all the paraphermalia of a luxurious life conduce to the requirements of a healthy and good life? Most emphatically-No The ideal of a sound life is based on economy. A knowledge of economy is therefore very necessary, 'The man with a graceful appearance, with a sweet smile and suavity in his dealing mixed with sincerity and kindness and willing to help any real object calculated to benefit the needy although simple and self-saorificing and detesting the pomp and show of the day, is the ideal man. He may be in the highest 开 in the world of matter the sun rises in hidder, yet he knows he is a mortal and in the short span of life which again is shortened by DARKNESS. sleep, sickness, study, the duties of the householder only a small time left us to do good to others who need our support, Hence we should not over-burden ourselves with too much brain-work and randum duties created for fancy-living. My Anathbandhu may do some good to mankind as it gives some account of Dharma which should be the main subject of study in life, Agriculture which maintains us, the Arts which will solve the poverty-problem of the people and discusses preventives and cures of It also gives one some idea of the Yoga-Shastra to regulate the air that controls our system and keeps us healthy, the YotishShastra which gives us knowledge, Exercise which makes us healthy, the merits of plants and trees and Mustijog which are invaluable and last but not least music which gives us the knowledge of how to sing our prayer and express our sacred love, happy and poetic thoughts, I have been trying my best to do the best I can for the Journal. Although some of the highest personages have appreciated the usefulness of the Journal, yet I have still got only a limited number of paid subscribers,
