TRANSIATION 31 v. MAHADEVA (1) ON MOUNT KAILASA. (2) On Kailasa's top of a silvery hue, that pierces far into distant skios, and drenched in snowy waters pure—most sacred site —lies the seat of meditative Mahadeva. The body of the moun tain spreads over all visible space—the clouds dauce about its lap. Up rises the juvenile Sun— the picture of red-down swing the deep dark clouds. Laugh the mountain-trees in ail their glory of flowers and fruits, and fend or creepers fol. low suit ; while fly the honuy-tongued bees about in search of sweet. Dashes the cascade against the mount, and rivers meandering flow ; while float the foams in silvery smiles, and bubbles born to die. The dancing wild begs flowers of trees, which, taken, are given to fount again, whence borne are they on watery wings. The wind within the bamboorifts plays a kind of flute, while birds on trees doth dulcet music sing. The charming notes combine and raise a symphony new !
