যেমন হইয়া থাকে, ডাক্তার চলিয়া যাইবার পর তাঁহাকে লইয়া আমাদের মধ্যে সমালোচনা চলিতে লাগিল। দিদি বলিলেন— “লোকটাকে লাগল মন না।”
ভগিনীপতি বলিলেন—“Yes—he's not a bad fellow— hasn't got much common sense though, too much of a woman worshipper I should say.”
দিদি। সেত ভালই।
ভগিনীপতি। মন্দ কে বলছে? Poor fellow I pity him—he's quite lost in admiration of the fair sex. Fancy an intelligent and educated man like him firmly believing in the possibility of a woman's ever coming up to Shakespeare in intellectual power!
দিদি। সেটা কি এমনি অসম্ভব ব্যাপার?
ভগিনীপতি। And what is worse still—feeling no hesitation whatever in expressing this outrageous opinion of his before others and making a fool of himself. The man has absolutely no sense of the ludicrous.
আমি বলিলাম—“তাঁর যে strength of conviction খুব আছে—এতে তা বেশ বোঝা যাচ্ছে।”
