( १७ ) EDUCATION, Φακυαψmmωπο I. All persons seeking employment in the Education Department are requested to send in their applications, accompanied with testimonials, to the Secretary Council of Education, by whom they will be submitted to the Committee appointed by Government to examine and classify all such persons, in accordance with the subjoined regulations entitled:— RULEs For THE EYAMINATION op CANDID vTI:s FoR IMPLOYAll:NT AND PROMOTION IN THE Llouca TIUN DEPARTMENT. 1. A Committee shall be formed for the purpose of examining candidates for employment and promotion in the Education Department. 2. The Committee shall ordinarily consist of the Secretary to the Council of Education, the Secretary to the Madrasali, the Inspector of Colleges and Schools, the l’rincipals and Head-Masters of the Ilindoo and slooghly Colleges, and the Professo sors of literaturo and Mathematics in thos^ C'olleges. The Council of Educutnon may add to the Committee from time to time any other fit persons as extraordinary inembers. Three members shall form a quorum. 3. The regular meetings of the Coulmittee shall be held at the Hindu College once every three months; viz, upon the first Saturdays in January, April, July, and October, at 10 A. ni. 4. Emergent Meetings shall be held at such times, and for such puposes, as the Council of Rducation may direct, due notice of at last one week being given of every such meeting. 5. The plincipal business of the Committee will be to examine all candidates for employment in the Education Departinent, to ascertain the qualifications and fitness of those in the IOepartment who are otherwise ligible for promotion from one grade to another, and to dispose of such other matters of a similar nature as the Council of Fduca tion may direct. 6. All candidates for employment as teachgrs in Government Institutions shall be ranked in four classes, according to their acquirements and general aptitude for conducting the important and responsible duty of I’ducation 7. The fourth or lowest cluss shall comprehend all such as are skilled in: reading, writing, arithmetic, and the subjects laid down in the junior scholarship standard; and who likewise shew some aptitude in impañing instiuction -nd explaining all difficulties correctly and in precise and appropriate terms. This class will be considered eligible to situations, of which the salary is from 10 to 50 Itupees a month. 8. The third shall consist of those who are highly skilled in the branches of study required to | [গবৰ্ণমেণ্ট গেজেট ১৮৪৫ । ১৮ ফেব্রুমারি ] • বিদ্যাধ্যাপন । ১। বিদ্যাধ্যাপমের গিরিশতায় যে সকল ব্যক্তি কর্মের আকাঙ্ক্ষা করেন তাহারদের প্রতি চকুম হইল যে র্তাহারদেয় যে২ প্রশংসাপত্র থাকে তাহা আপমারদের দরখা ন্ধের সঙ্গে বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের কৌন্সেলের সেক্রেটারী সাহেবের নিকটে পাঠান এবং নীচের লিখিত বিধানানুসারে ঐ সকল ব্যক্তির ইমত্তিহান লইতে ওর্ডাহারদের সম্প্রদায়? করিতে গবৰ্ণমেন্ট যে কমিটি নিযুক্ত করিয়াছেন সেই কমিটির নিকটে ঐ সেক্রেটারী লাহেব সেই দরখাস্ত জ্ঞাপন করিবেন। বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের সিরিশতায় নিযুক্ত হওনের ও উচ্চ পদ পাইবার আকাঙুি ব্যক্তিরদের ইমতিহানের বিষয়ি বিধান । ১। বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের সিরিশতায় র্যাহার নিযুক্ত চফ্ট ন্তে এবং উচ্চ পদ পাইতে ইচ্ছা করেন তাহারদের ইম তিহান লইবার এক কমিটি নিযুক্ত হইবেন। ২ । বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের কোন্সেলের সেক্রেটারী সাহেল ও মদরসার সেক্রেটারী সাহেব এল কালেক্ত ও পাঠশালার ভক্সাবধারক সাহেব এবং হিন্দু ও হুগলী কালেজের অধ্যক্ষ ও প্রধান শিক্ষক সাহেবের এবং ঐ১ কা লেজে গ্রন্থ বিদ্য ও ক্ষেএ পরিমাপক নিদ্যার অধ্যাপল, সাহেলের। প্লষ্টয সামান্যতঃ কমিটি হ'ষ্টলেক । বিদ্যাধাপ নের স্টেন্সেলের সাহেরে সময়ক্রমে অন্যান্য উপযুক্ত লোকদিগকে কমিটির উপর মেম্বরী কর্মে নিযুক্ত পলিন্তে পারেন। তিন জন মেয়র উপস্থিত হক্টলেই কর্ম সিথ। হইতে পালিলেক । ৩। কমিটির নিমমিত বৈঠক তিন মাস অন্তর অর্থাৎ ফ্রানুভমারি ও অমাপ্রিল ও জলাই এল অকটোলার মাসের প্রথম শনিবার বেলা দণ ঘন্টার সময়ে ছিন্দ পালে৮ে ইষ্টলেক । ৪। আলশ্যক কোন লিমষ উপস্থিত হইলে বিদ্যাঞ্চr পনের কৌন্সেলের সাহেলেরা যে? সময় ও যে? অভিপ্রাষ নির্দিষ্ট করেন সেই সময়ে ও সেইথ আ গুপ্রায়ে বৈঠল, হষ্টলেক। কিন্তু এমত প্রত্যেক বৈঠকের সম্মাদ এ লৈ?ল, হওনের অনুন এক সপ্তাহ পূৰ্ব্বে দেওয়া যাইনেঞ্চ । ৫। এ কমিটির বিশেষ কার্য্য এই । র্যাকার rিদ্য ধ্যাপনেব সিরিশতায় নিযুক্ত হইতে চাহেন তাহানদের ইমভিহান লওয়া এবং এ সিরিশতায় র্যাহারা অন্যান্য বিষয়ে উচ্চ পদ প্রাপণের উপযুক্ত ঙাহারদের যোগ্য ও ও উপযুক্তত নিৰ্ণয করণ এবং এ প্রকার অন্য যে কোন কার্য্য বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের কৌন্সেলের সাহেবের নির্দিষ্ট করেন তাহার নির্বাহ করা। ৬। গবৰ্ণমেণ্টের বিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষকতার কর্মাকাক্তিম্ব, সকল ব্যক্তি আপনারদের নৈপুণ্যানুসারে এবং বিদ্যা শিখাওনের অতিগুরুতর ও কুঁন্ধীর কমা করিলার সাধারণ উপযুক্ততানুসারে চারি শ্রেণীতে বিভক্ত হইবেন। ৭ । র্যাহার। লিখনেতে ও পড়নেতে গু অঙ্কবিদ্যান্তে নিপুণ এবং যে বিষয়ে সুশিক্ষিত চইয়া কোন ছাত্র দ্বিতীয় শ্রেণীর বুদ্ধি পাটতে পারেন সেই বিষয়ে নিপুণ এবং র্যাহার। বিদ্যা শিখাওনে১ে পটু দুষ্ট হন এবং কঠিণ বিষয় ঠিকরুপে এবং নিশ্চিত ও উপযুক্ত বাক্যে বুঝাইতে পারেন তাহার চতুর্থ অর্থাৎ নীচন্তু শ্রেণীতে গণ্য হইবেন । এই শ্রেণীর ব্যক্তিরা ১০১ অবধি ৫•১ টাকাপৰ্য্যন্ত মাসিক বেতনের কর্মে নিযুক্ত হইবার যোগ্য বোধ হইলেন । ৮ । চতুর্থ শ্রেণীর শিক্ষকেরদের যে সকল বিদn শিখাইতে হইবেক সেই সকলেতে যাহার। অতিনিপুণ f
