The Governor-General in Council directs that immediate instructions be issued to all Officers in charge of Treasuries in the Lower Provinces, recinding so much of the Circular Orders of the 24th August 1882, as admitted the possibility of the resceipt into any Government Treasury of Copper Coins, oa which no portion of the original inscription should be distinctly legible, and he desires that it be held as a general rule, that when the inscription of device on any legally current Copper Coins is much defaced by ordinary wear, these Coins shall not be reigsued from any Government Treasury but reserved for transmission to the Calcutta mint. Ordered, that a copy of the foregoing Resolution be communicated to the Bengal office with advertence to the Orders of the Right Honourable the Governor of Bengal above noticed, and that the specimens of pyce be returned to that officer.
