( 5. Every Candidate for insertion in the Council's list, shall pay a registration fee of Company's Rupees 5, prior to being allowed to compete at the examination. 6. The examinations shall be held annually at the Town Hall, a few days before the Doorgah Poojah holidays, of which due notice shall be giveu. 7. A Student who shall fail to prove himself qualified for insertion in the Council's list, shall not be permitted to present himself for examination more than three times, pre-paying on each occasion the usual registration fee. 8. A Candidate whose name shall once have appeared in the Return, shall not be allowed to compete again with a view to obtain a higher grade. 9. All Candidates, whether from Government or private Institutious, must distinctly understand, that mere insertion in the Returns will by no means be a sure passport to employment, since the preference must depend upon other qualifications, as well un upon literary und scientific acquirements, and good moral conduct. 10. " The following is the system of oxamination adopted, and the standard of the Seuior English Scholarships referred to, in Rule 2. Sets of questions on the various branches of study will be prepared under the direction of the Council of Education, who will likewise fix within a reasonable time beforehand, the days on which the examinations shall be held. The Students shall be assembled in a room without books. p. They will be required to answer the questions and to write the essays without any assistance whatever, and to ensure this, one of the Members of the Council of Education will reinain in the room, and superintend the whole examination. Any attempt at or practice of, unfair means, shall subject the offender to exclusion from the examination--as well as from the Returns of the Council, and thereby render him ineligible for Government enuployment. The Council of Education will fix an uniform standard of value for each questiou according to its importance, a perfectly correct and complete answer will obtain the full number of marks attached to the question, an imperfect answer will obtain a part only of the full number, in proportion to its approximation to correctness and completeness. At least 50 per cent. of the aggregate numher of marks attached to an entire set of examiniation questions, will be necessary to entitle a Student to a Senior Scholarship. The following are the qualifications for the Senior English Scholarships :— [Government Gazette, 12th August, 1845.] | | | 8ఆపి ) ৫ । যাহার কৌন্সেলের ফর্দে নাম লেখাটতে অকাচক্ষা রাখে তাহারদের ইমতিহানে প্রতিযোগিত। করণের অনুমতি পাইবার পূর্বে কোR ৫১ টাকা ফিস দিতে হইবেক । ७ । हभठिशन द*नcद्र १ मूर्शी शृङाद्र छूछेौद्र क७क দিবস পূৰ্ব্বে টেনিছালে হইবেক তাছার সম্বাদ উপযুক্তমতে দিন থাকিতে দেওয়া যাইবেক । ৭ । যে কোন ছাত্র কৌন্সেলের ফর্দেতে আপন নাম লেখাইবার যোগ্যভার প্রমাণ না দেয় সে তিনবারের অধিক ইমতিহান দিতে পারিবেক ন; এব^ সেই প্রত্যেক বারের পূৰ্ব্বে তাহার উক্ত ফিল দিতে হইবেক । இ) ৮ । ষে কৰ্মাকাঙ্গিক্ষর নাম ফর্দেভে লেখা যায় সেই জন উচ্চ শ্রেণী পাইবার অভিপ্রায়ে পুনৰ্ব্বার ইমতিহান দিতে অনুমতি পাইবেক না । ৯ । গবৰ্ণমেন্টের ও বিশেষ বিদ্যালয়ের সকল কর্মকাহ্মী সপষ্টরূপে জানিবেক যে তাহারদের নাম ফর্দেতে লিখিত চাইলেই তাছার নিতান্ত কর্ম পাইলেক এমত নহে কেননা বিদ্যাতে নিপুণতা এবং সদাচারিতা ভিন্ন অন্যান্য গুণেরও অাবশ্যক হুইবেক । ১• । ইমতিহানের এই ২ নিয়ম হইবেক এবং প্রথম ইঙ্গরেঞ্জী বুদ্ধির যে হার ২ বিধিতে লেখা আছে তাঙ্ক: এই ৷ বিদ্যার নানা শাখার বিষয়ে নানা প্রশ্ন বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের কেন্সেলের প্রকুমানুসারে প্রস্তুত হইবেক এব^ যে দিবসে ইমতিহান হষ্টলেক তাহ উপযুক্ত সময় থাকিতে তাহারদের দ্বারা নির পপ হইবেক । ছাঞ্জেরা এক কুঠরীর মধ্যে একত্র হইলেক ভাঙ্গারদের কোন কেতাব বা কাগজ কি মাচাতে কিছু অবগত হইতে পারে এমত কিছু থাকিলেক না ইমতিহানের সময়ে তাহারদের পরসপার কোন কথা ব1 লিখনপঠন হইলেক ন? এবং সেই নিমিত্তে তাহারা উপযুক্তমতে দূরে পৃথক ই ইয়া বসিলেক । কোন সাহাঙ্গালিন ভাঙ্গারদের সকল জিজ্ঞাসার উত্তৰ দিতে হষ্টবেল এল এসে লিথিন্তে হক্টলেক এবং তাহারদের কোন সাহায্য মা হয় এভদর্থে বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের কোন্সেলের এক প্রন কামরার মধ্যে থাকিবেন এবং সমস্ত ইমতিহানের কর্তৃতা করিলেন । যদি কোন কপট কর্ম হয় বা ভাকার উদ্যোগ হয় তলে অপরাধি ব্যক্তি ইমভিহানছষ্টভে বহিস্কৃত হইবেক এবং কৌন্সেলের সাহেবেরদের রিপোর্টের মধ্যে তাছার নাম লেখা যাইবেক না এবং সেই নিমিত্তে সে সরকারী কমে নিযুক্ত হইবার অযোগ্য হইবেক। প্রত্যেক প্রশ্নের গুরুতর অনুসারে বিদ্যাধ্যাপনের ক্টেন্সেল ভাঙ্গার মূল্যের একি প্রকার হার নিরূপণ করিবেন । যদ্যপি সেই প্রশ্নের ঠিক এবং সম্পূর্ণ উল্পর দেওয়া যায় তবে সেট প্রশ্নের যত চিহ্ন নিরূপণ আছে তাহার সম্পূর্ণ সংখ্য কৃতকাৰ্য্য ছাত্র পাইবেক কিম্ব যদি তাচার অসম্পূর্ণ উত্তর দেওয়া মায় তলে মেপৰ্য্যন্ত তহি। ঠিক ও পূণ হয় তাহার হিসাব করিয়া সম্পূণ চিক্রের BiB BBBS BBBBS BB BBBBBBB BBB প্রশ্নের সমুদয়ে যত চিফ নিরূপণ আছে তাহার অন্ধেক যে ছাত্র না পায় সে প্রধান বৃত্ত্বিভেfগর তুল্য জ্ঞান হইতে পালিবেক না । | ইঙ্গরেঞ্জী ভাষাতে ছাত্রেরদের প্রধান বৃত্তি প্রাপণার্থে | এই২ বিদ্যাতে নিপুণচওনের আবশ্যক ।
