With the view to obviate delay in the receipt of Itemittances by the families of Native Officers and soldiers, Government having been pleaked, in modification of the existing Regulations on the subject, to pass certain rules for the guidance of the authorities concerneil, and to enjoin the strictest nttention to tlieir future observance ; I hnve the honour to annex for your information and guidance a copy of the said Rules bearing date the 8th Noveinhor last, and to request that in the disposal of su h "amıly rennuttances you will strictly conform to those rules, so far as they apply to your CollectorԻհար. In regard to the receipts to be taken foom the Payees of the emittances in question, 1 beg to add that besides the receipt in the Form No. 2, appended to the last Iule, which is required after signature by the payee, to be returned by you to the offic er forwalduz the draft, for the satisfa tion of the remitter, two mole reccipts should be taken from the payces, i.e. one on the back of the discharged Diaft as usual for the use of this I)epartment, and another in a separate papel for record in your own Office. The Governor-General in Council having reason to believe that very serious inconvenience is frequently experienced by the families of Native Officers and soldiers, from the delay which occurs in the payment of their Remittances, is pleased in modification of existing Regulations, on the subject, to prescribe the following rules for the guidance of parties concerned, and to enjoin the strictest attention to their future observance.
