From the Yonder Secretary to the Government of Bengal, to the Secretary to the Sudder Board of Revenue, dated Fort William, the 5th May, 1847. I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter, No 12, dated the 6th January last with its enclosures, relative to the alterations in the securities and salaries of tho Collectorate Treasurers, absorption of the salaries of Stamp Darogahs and Interest Mohirirs, and abolition of the separate Magistrates' and Judges' Treasuries in the Lower Provinces, and in reply to forwarl tho accompanying copy of a letter from the Secretary to the Government of India, Fınancial Department, of the 19th March last, sanctioning the arrangements proposed, which the Board are requested at once to carry into effect in coinmunication with the Sudder Court and the Accountaint. 2d. The Board are also requested to furnish a roll of the individuals now holding the situation of Treasurer in the Judicial Courts or of Stamp Darogah, who will he put out of employ in consequence of these arrangements, and to recommend the amount of gratuity to be granted to each, not exceeding in any case six months’ pay. 3d. I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of Mr. Under Secretary Beadon's lotter in the Revenue Departinent, No. 1 19, dated the 17th ultimo, to the address of Mr. Secretary Bushby, with its enclosures, and in reply to inform you that the Honourable tho President ın Council concurs generally ın the views of the Isonourable the Deputy Governor of Bengal as to the expediency of increasing the salaries of the Collectors' Treasurers, in the Lower Provinces, and diminishing the amount of security #equired of them, and he accordingly sanctions the adoption of the *cale of salaries for those officers suggested by the late Accountant General, Mr. Morley, and recommended by the Sudder Board of [Government Gazette, 29th June, 1847.]
