The following Act is passed by the Honourable the ...the Council of India in Council, on the 10th of June, 1847, with the assent of the Right Hon’ble the Governor General of India, which has been read and recorded. Ordered, that the Act be promulgated for generlinformation. 售 Act No. X, or 1847. As Act for amending Act XXX. of 1836. It ja hereby enacted, that within the Territories subject to the Government of the East India Company, whenever any Court not included under, the pρvisions of Act XXIV. of 1848, shall sentence any offender to imprisonment for life under the provisions of Act XXX. of 1836, it shall at the same time sentence such offender to transportation beyond sea for life, unless there should be special reasons inducing the Court to think such prisoner not a proper subject for transportation, which, special reasons the Court is hereby directed to record.
