No. 1883.M.–The 19th August 1897.-Whereas a notification No. 6G3M., dated the 5th February 1897, was published at page 36, Part IB of the Calcutta Gazette of the 10th February 1897, declaring the intention of the Lieutenant-Governor to extend the provisions of sections 254 to 259, 260A and 274 of Part VI of the Bengal Municipal Act, III of 1884, as modified up to November 1896, to the Bally Municipality, in the district of LIowrah, and whereas no valid objection has been raised to the proposal within one month from the date of the publication of the above notification within the Municipality, it is here by notified for general information that, in the exercise of the power vested in the Local Government by section 221 of the Act, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Commissioners of the Bally Municipality, made at a mecting, the Lieutenant-Governor Ranctions the extension of the above provisions of the Municipal Act to the said Municipality.
