The 38th September 1897. No. 174 Marine.—The following notifications, Nos. 2133, 2144, 2145 and 2146, issued undor the provisions of the Pilgrim Ships’ Act, 1895, and published by the Government of India, are republished for general information. A. D. McARTHUR, Col., R.E., Secy. to the Govt. of Bengal. No. 2133, dated Simla, the 17th September 1897. NOTIFICATION —By the Government of India, IIome I)epartment. IN exercise of the powers conforced by section 58 of the Pilgrim Ships Act (XIV of 1895), the Governor-General in Council is pleased to direct that the following clause shall be inserted after clause (3) of Rule 67 of the rules published in the Notification of the Government of India in the Ilome IJepartment, No. 262, dated the 5th October 1896:— {4) If the owner or agent neglects or refuses, on presentation, as provided by clause (3) of the cancelled ticket, to refund to the pilgrim the pnssage money paid by him, such owner or agent shall be punishable with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees, and with a further fine which may extend to twenty rupees for each day after the dily on which the ticket was presented, during which tho refund remaius unpnid. No. 2144, dated Simla, the 17th September 1897. NOTIFICATIONS.–By the Government of India, IIome Department. In exercise of the power conforted by section 5, clause (1), of the Pilgrim Ships Act. 1895 (XIV of 1895), the Governor General in Council is pleased to cancel the Notification of the Govornment of lndia in tho Home Department, No. 261, dated the 5th October 1896. No. 2145. In oxercise of the power conferred by section 19, sub-section (1), of the Pilgrim Ships’ Act, 1895 (XIV of 1895), and in supersession of the orders contained in the Notification of the Government of India in the Homo Department, No. 260, dated the 5th October 1890, the Governor-General in Council is pleased to order that overy pilgrim ship shall contain at least sixteen superficial feet and ninety-six cubic feet of spaco available for each pilgrim in the botween deck on which he is accommodated. No. 2146. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 58 of the Pilgrim Ships Act, 1895 (XIV of 1895), the Governor-General in Council is pleased to direct that the following amendment shall be made in the rules published in the Notification of the Government of India in the IIome Departmont, No. 262, dated the 5th October 1806 – (i) In rule 74, as er the word “rules,” the following shall be insorted, namely — “ and of Articles 3 and 31 to 41 (both inclusive) set forth in Part B of Annoxure 1 fo tho Paris Convention of 1894.** (ii) In Form VI, for the Statement headed “Pilgrims,” the following shall be substituted, namely: Pilgrims. - **- - - - - - - - - - --- - - - - - ------ -
