MUNIC[PAL AND LOCAL. NOTIFICATION. No. 3703M.—The 15th July 1897.--Whereas a motification No. 2559M., dated the 8th May 1897, was published at page 118, Part IB of the Calcutta Gazette of the 12th idem, declaring tho intention of the Lieutenant-Governor to extend the provisions of Part IX of the Bengal Municipal Aot, III of 1881, as amended by Bengal Acts IV of 1894 and II of 1896, to the undermentioned area situated within the Barisal Municipality, in the district of Backergunge, and whereas no objection has been raised to the proposal within one month from the date of the publication of the above notification within the Municipality, it is hereby notified for general information that, in the exercise of the power vested in the Local Government by section 221 of the Act, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Commissioners of the Barisal Municipality, made at a meeting, the LieutenantGoveruor sanctions the extension of the above provisions of the Municipal Act to the said area situated within the above Municipality:— West.—West Bogura road, N or h Bogura road and Sakutia road. No. 3745 Ms.-The 17th July 1897.--Whereas a notification No. 1598M., dated the 22nd March 1897, was published at page 75, Tart IB of the Calcutta Gasotte of the 24th idem, declaring the intention of the Lieutenant-Governor to sanction the levy by the Commissioners of the Asansol Municipality, in the district of Burdwan, of a tax under section 131 of the Bengal Municipal Act, III of 1884, as amended by Bengal Act 1 V of 1894, on carriages and on horses and other animals specified in the fifth schedule of the Act, at rates not exceeding those mentioned in the said schedule, and whereas no objection has been raised to the proposal within one month from the date of the publication of the above notification within the Municipality, it is hereby notified for general information that, in the exercise of the power vested in the Local Government by section 86 (a) of the Act, and in accordance with the recommendations of the Commissioners of the Asansol Municipality, made at a meeting. the Tieutenant-Governor sanctions the above proposal.
