No. 138.-The following is published in substitution of Notification No. 330, dated the 30th November 1876 : — Iu exercise of the powers conferred by Section 1, Clause 4 of Act VIII of 1875 (for regulating inland customs duties on salt and sugar and for other purposes), the Governor-General in Council is pleased to extend the provisions of Section 3 of Chapter I, Chapter III, Chapter V (omitting Section 23), and Chaptcr VI of the said Act, cxcept so far as the same relate to sugar, to all the districts of the Patna Division in the Lower Provinces of Bengal. No. 139. —In exercisc of the powers conferred by Scetion 10 of the Inland Customs Act VIII of 1875, the Governor-General in Council is pleased to prohibit the manufacture of salt and the manufacture and refining of saltpetre throughout all the districts of the Patna Division in the Lower Provinces of Bengal, except in such places, and subject to such conditions in and subject to which such manufacture and refining were lawful on the 10th day of April 1876.
