The following notifications are republished from the Assam Gazette : The 16th June 1877.-Mr. G. Godfrey, c.s., Officiating Assistant Commissioner, Second Grade, Lakhimpur, is transferred to the district of the Khási and Jaintiá Hills, and is posted to the head-quarters station of that district. The 28th June 1877.-The undermentioned officer reported his departure for Europe on the date specified below :— Mr. j. F. Needham, Assistant Political Officer, Nága Hills, per steamer Busheer, the 26th May 1877. Mr. R. B. McCabe, c.s., Assistant Commissioner, Third Grade, is appointed to be SubRegistrar of Assurances of the Sudder sub-division of the district of Lakhimpur, vice Mr. G. Godfrey, c.s., transferred to the district of the Khási and Jaintiá Hills. ERRarum.—The 10th July 1877.-In the orders of the 15th May last, published in the Calcutta Gazette of the 16th idem, granting leave for six months on medical certificate to Mr. J. Read A letter, No. 798A., of 31st May 1877, from the Commissioners for making Improvements in the Port of Calcutta, applying for a loan of five lakhs of rupees.for the purpose of constructing a new jetty to the south of No. 7 Jetty. WHEREAs it appears probable to the Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal that the loan of five lakhs of rupees applied for ought to be granted to the Port Commissioners, it is hereby ordered that the application be published in the Calcutta Gasette, as required by the 5th of. the rules made by the Governor-General in Council under the Public Works Loan Act of 1871, and published on the 15th October 1878.
