" The 29th September 1877.—Under Section 4, Act II (B.C.) of 1877 (the Provincial Public Works Act), the Lieutenant-Governor is pleased to direct (in modification of the notice of the 6th June, and in order as far as possible to assimilate the dates of payment to those under the Road Cees Act,) that after this date the provincial public works cess year shall be taken to commence on the lst October in all those districts to which the Act has been extended. The cess due for the quarter ending on the 30th September, and that falling due in Orissa on the 8th November next, will be collected under the notification of the 6th June. The rate of cess in all districts for the year commencing on the 1st October will be one-half of an anna in the rupee on the annual value of the lands in the said districts. A. MACKENzik, & * Offy.
