No. 1580.—The Governor-General in Council hereby declaras-that it is expedient that the Governor-General shall visit certain parts of India unaccompanied by his Council. And in the exercise of the powers conferred by the Indian Councils Act, Section 6, the Governor-General in Council hereby nominates the Hou’ble Sir E. C. Bayley, k.c.s.i., to be President of the said Council with effect from the 17th instant, during the time of such visit; and the powers of the Governor-General in assemblies of the said Council during the time of such visit shall be reposed in the said the Hon’ble Sir E. C. Bayley, except that, of assenting to, or withholding his assent from, or reserving for the signification of Her Majesty's pleasure, any law or resolation as provided in the 24th and 25th Vic, Uap. 67.
