AUTHOR'S FOREWARD I am deeply grateful to my friend, l’rofessor J. L. l3annerjee, M.A., ii.I., M.I.C., for his kindly doing the needful for this work and for writing the preface. May I add here that it is my desire to present to my learned friends within a short time four other books which I have written ? The first deals with the phenomenon of Earthquakes, in IBeingali with Englisli version ; the second is a short life-sketch of His late Majesty King George V, in Sanskrit and in Ionglish ; the third deals with the life of our present I’mperor, Hdward VIII, in Sanskrit with l$nglish translation ; and the fourth is a treatise on Hindu I,aw in Sanskrit. The last treatise on II indu Law is the Smriti of Raghunandana which was written about 500 years ago. My book which is a sketch on the same subject is based on the ancient Sastras suited to the modern ag妃。 K. P. V.
