He is air, he is earth, he is moon ; and in all these forms he sustains the world. Even the nectar which sustains the gods is nothing but this lifeprinciple". And hence it has been said: प्रजापतिश्चरसि गर्भे त्वमेव प्रतिजायसे । तुभ्यं प्राण प्रजास्त्विमा वलिं हरन्ति य: प्रागे: प्रतितिष्ठसि । प्र: २३ ।। “Life, ihou ari Prajapali, ihou movesi in the womb as Prajapati. and it is ihou who ari afterwards born in the image of the parenis.
