Those who have come here to del berate , and negotiate deserve the fullost meed of gratitude both of India and of Great Britain.--Rewser. বহাড়ম্বরবিশিষ্ট কথার কুহেলিকায় প্রধান মন্ত্রী তাহার আসল সঙ্কল্পটি লুকাইয় রাখিয়াছেন। গোপনের এই চেষ্ট হইতেই বুঝা যাইতেছে, তিনি ভারতীয় মডারেটদের দাবীও গ্রাহ করিতে চান না । তিনি ভারতবর্ষের দর্শন, তাহার প্রাচীন ইতিহাস ইত্যাদির উল্লেখ করিয়াছেন ; কিন্তু বৰ্ত্তমানে ভারতবর্ষে যে যুগান্তরকারী আন্দোলন চলিতেছে, তাহার সম্বন্ধে নিৰ্বাক। ভারতের ইতিহাস ইংরেজ জাতি গড়িয়াছে, ভারতীয়দের মনের উপর তাহার প্রভাব বিস্তার করিয়ছে এবং তfহাদের ভাগোর ধার। পরিবর্কিত করিয়াছে, তিনি বলিয়াছেন । কিন্তু ভারতীয়ের যে অনেক দিন হইতে নিজেদের ইতিহাস গড়িতেছে, একজন ভারতীয় যে ভারতীয়দের মনের উপর সর্বাপেক্ষ প্রভাবশালী এবং তিনি ও র্তাহার সহকৰ্ম্মীরা যে ভারতের ভাগ চক্র নিজেদের বাঞ্ছিত পথে চালাইতেছেন, এসব কথা সম্বন্ধে প্রধান মন্ত্রী নিৰ্ব্বাক । তিনি ভারতের স্বাধীনত বিস্তৃততর করিতে চান বুঝিলাম, কিন্তু যথেষ্ট বিস্তার করিতে চান না, তাহাও সহজেই অমুমেয়। ভারতবর্ষের লোকদিগকে বিস্ময়কর জাতি বলিরা, এবং তা গদিগকে ও তাহাদের প্রাচীন দর্শনশাস্ত্র, জমকাল প্রাচীন ঐতিহাসিক বর্ণসমাবেশ ও তাহাদের পূর্বপুরুষদগ হইতে উদ্ভব বুঝা আবশ্যক বলিয়া, তিনি এদেশের লোকদের মন ভুলাইবার চেষ্টা করিয়া থাকিবেন । কিন্তু কথায় চি ড়ে ভিজে না । ভারতবর্ষ হইতে যাহাদিগকে গবন্মের্ণ নিমন্ত্রণ করিয়ু লইয়া গিয়াছেন, তাহদের মধ্যে কেবল আগা থার নাম করিয়া অন্য সকলকে তাহার সহকৰ্ম্মী বল । হইয়াছে। ইহা বলায় অন্য সকলের অপমানই করা হইয়াছে । আগা খান ভারতবর্ষে থাকেন না, ভারতবর্ষ হঠতে লব্ধ টাকার সাহায্যে ফ্রান্সে ও অন্যত্র আমোদপ্রমোদ ঘোড় দৌড়ের থেলা করিয়া বেড়ান। ভারতবর্ষের সুখ-দুঃখের সহিত র্তাহার কোনই সম্পর্ক নাই । ভারতবর্ষের অন্য লোকদের কথা দূরে থাক, মুসলমানদের জন্যও তিনি কিছু স্বাৰ্থত্যাগ বা পরিশ্রম করেন নাই । মুসলমানদের মধ্যে অজ্ঞ লোকদের সংখ্যা বেশী বলিয়া তাহাকে অনেক মুসলমান আপনাদের নেতা মনে করে। তিনি "হিজ হাইনেস বলিয়া অভিহিত হন, কিন্তু তাহার একহাতপরিমিত রাজ্যও কোথাও নাই। প্রজাদের হিতকারী রাজা কোন কোন দেশী রাজ্যে আছেন। র্তাহাদের নাম না করিয়া আগা খার নাম করিয়া ব্রিটিশ প্রধান মন্ত্রী তাহাদিগকে খুব সম্মানিত করিয়াছেন। গবন্মেন্টের বাছাই করা লোকদিগকে ভারতবর্ষের প্রতিনিধি বলা মিথ্যা কথা । ভারতবর্ষের কোন
