Sketches of Bunjeet Singh. 3 ,, of King of Oudh. 4. Ou Bengalee poetry, 5. On Bengalee works and writers. 6. The Vision-a tale (stati) এতদ্ভিন্ন *The poems” নামে আর একখানি থওকাব্য লিখেন, তাহাতে ক্ষুদ্র ক্ষুদ্র থওকবিতা প্রকাশিত হয়। “The poems” ছাপা হইবার পর Mookerjee's magazineএ আরও কতকগুলি প্রবন্ধ গদ্যে পদ্যে লিখিয়াছিলেন, সেগুলি এখনও পুস্তকাকারে সংগৃহীত হয় নাই । ১৮৪৫ ৷৷ ৪৬ খৃষ্টাব্দে কবি কাশিপ্রসাদ “The Hindu Intelligence” নাম দিয়া একখানি বৃহৎ সাপ্তাহিক পত্র প্রকাশ করেন । তিনি নিজেই ইহার সম্পাদক ও সত্ত্বাধিকারী ছিলেন । অতি দক্ষতার সহিত এই পত্রখানি ১২ বৎসর কাল চলিয়াছিল, শেষে সিপাহী বিদ্রোহের সময় সংবাদপত্রের বিরুদ্ধে আইন পাশ হওয়ায় ( ১৮৫৮ ) বন্ধ হইয়াছে। ইহাতে রাজনীতি ও সাহিত্যালোচনা যথেষ্ট হইত ।
- T* On Bengalee Works and Writers atos পুস্তকে প্রাচীন বাঙ্গাল কবিগণের (ভারতচন্দ্র, নিধুবাবু ইত্যাদি ) গ্রন্থাদি সমালোচিত হইয়াছে । সমালোচনাকালে বাঙ্গালার উদ্ধৃত অংশ সকলের যেরূপ ইংরাজী অনুবাদ করিয়াছেন, তাহ অতি সুন্দর, দেখিলে মন যুগপৎ বিস্মিত ও চমৎকৃত হইয়া পড়ে !
বিদ্যাসুন্দরে অাছে – “এবার মাসের মধ্যে বিষম ফাঙ্কন, মলয় পবনে জ্বলে মদন আগুন । কোকিল বঙ্কার আর ভ্রমর ঝঙ্কার, শুষ্ক তরু মুঞ্জরিবে কতেক প্রকার ”— कवि कानैeगान जत्रूषाक् कब्रिtणन, “Sweet is the Phalguna, every month above, When southern breezes fan the fire of love, When round her cooling notes the cuckoo flings, ... When in his humming tone black-bee sings, And blighted plants of every kind display, Reviving many a new born leaf and spray.” “দেখি নগরের শোভা বাখানে স্কুন্দর। সম্মুখে দেখেন সরোবর মনোহয় ॥ সানবান্ধ চারিঘাট শিবালয় চারি। অবধূত জটাভস্মধারী সারি সারি। । চারিপাশ্বে সুচারু পুষ্পের উপবন । গন্ধ লয়ে মন বহে মলয়া পবন ॥ কুহু কুহ কোকিলা কোকিলগণ ডাকে। গুণ গুণ গুঞ্জরে ভ্রমর বীকে বাকে ॥ টল টল করে জল মন্দ মনা বায় । রাজহংস রাজহংসী খেলিয়া বেড়ায় ॥* কবির অনুবাদ— “The city's splendour struck Sundara's eyes, And see a charming lake before him lies. With brick-built places four for men to land ; And on the banks four Siva's temples stand. In rows the mendicants are seated there, Besmeared with ashes, waving matted hair. With groves of flowery plants the banks are bound, Where Malaya's soft gale wafts odours round. Where cuckoos sweetly sing their cooling song, And humming soft the bees unnumbered throng. Stirred by the breeze, the water's quivering stray Where male and female swans together play.” “দেখিয়া সুন্দর হৃদে লাগে কামফাল । স্মরিয়া বিদ্যার নাম ছাড়য়ে নিঃশ্বাস ৷ জলেতে নিভায় জাল সৰ্ব্বলোকে কয় । এ জল দেখিয়া জাল দ্বিগুণ বাড়ায় ॥* কবির অনুবাদ– “As Sundara bebeld it, instant chained With bonds of love his captive heart remained. Then from his core he fetched a sigh as came, Within bis recollection Vidyá's name. 'Tis said that waters preserve quenches fire, But loves flame which doubly doth expire. As waters like the lakes"— সঙ্গীততরঙ্গের গানগুলি সমালোচনাস্থলে যে সকল সঙ্গীতের অম্বুবাদ করিয়াছেন, তন্মধ্যে এখানে একটি গানের উত্তর সমেত অনুবাদ দেওয়া গেল— “বিরহিণী হয়ে কর পবনের আরাধন । ভজ রিপুর সখারে এ আর কোন সাধন । श्श् दिव्रश् श्रू, প্রজ্জ্বলিত হুতাশন, श्रांरब्रॉ cष यदण इन्द दूषि ब्रां८५ फॉ जांन ना ॥
