But she knew, and I know, that she is the figure around whom the whole theme revolves....” (p. 323) বস্তুত, এই w" বা শ্রীমতী রাণু অধিকারীই (এখন লেডী মুখোপাধ্যায়) যে নন্দিনীর মতো একটি মানবীর ছবি আঁকার জন্য রবীন্দ্রনাথকে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছিলেন, তাতে কোনো সন্দেহ নেই। এ বিষয়ে প্রয়াত কবি অমিয় চক্রবর্তী নু ইয়র্ক থেকে ৫ মে ১৯৮০ তারিখের একটি চিঠিতে আমাকে লিখেছিলেন— ‘রক্তকরবীর নায়িকা— আমার মনে হয়— শ্রীমতী রাণু অধিকারী (এখন লেভী মুখাজী) দ্বারা অনুপ্রাণিত।
