{ منه لا ] staircase inside it. The idol used to remain in the upper storey. No inscription exists. The walls are engraved with images of Hindu gods and goddesses of fine workmanship. There was a Dole-Mandir in front of the temples which has also fallen down. The temples stood on the right bank of the river Jamuna: which has dried up. The site is at a distance ef only three miles from Jessore or Iswaripore which was the capital of Maharaja Pratapaditya. Village Gopalpur is now within the ganti of Dr. Satis Chunder Mukherjee M. D of Calcutta, in perguna Dhuliapur, of which Kailash Chunder Pal Chaudhury is નhe Zeminder. The idol was removed from it more than a hundred years ago. It is now at the house of Kamal Narayan Adhikary of Raipur or Kaliganj, whose family is the hereditary worshiper of the idol. Every year the idol is taken to Nunnagore, at the time of the Dole festival in the month of February. The descendants of Maharaja Pratap-Aditya now reside there. The temple is over grown with big trees, and is in a very delapidated condition. It is now the haunt of small bats and wild pigs,
