Poorah is the principal village. There are markets in several of the villages, the principal of which are Sainguuge, Shurisnuggar, Gokulpur, Khoorgatchee, and Shibhatee. Small Indigo factories, exist in Surifnuggur, Tetoliya, Poorah, Khoorgatchee, Gundharbpoor. The chief zemindar is Kistopersad Roy.” The Pergunnah is thickly populated on the bank
