পতিবিরহে ইত্যাদি—প্রথম সর্গে মেঘনাদ প্রমীলার নিকট হইতে বিদায় লইয়া লঙ্কায় গমন করেন এবং রাবণ কর্ত্তৃক সেনাপতিত্বে অভিষিক্ত হইয়া ফিরিয়া আসিতে পারিলেন না। প্রমীলা পতির বিরহে উতলা হইয়া উঠিলেন।
প্রমোদ উদ্যান—Pleasure garden.
অশ্রু-আঁখি—with eyes full of tears.
অধরে মুরলী—with a flute in the mouth.
কে না জানে......... তাপে বনস্থলী—The attendants pale with sorrow for their mistress Pramila afflicted with separation from her husband Maghanada are compared to the pale, flowers in a garden scorched with sun at the end of the spring season. The spring season stands for Meghanada, the garden for Pramila, and the flowers for the companions of Pramila.
বসন্তসৌরভা—having the fragrance of the spring season.
