মহামন্ত্রবলে—with the influence of powerful mantras. নম্রশিরঃ ফণী—a snake with its hood lowered down.
বাসবত্রাস—Indrajit, the object of the dread of Indra. মন্দ্রে—(verb) roars.
জীমূতেন্দ্র—a great cloud. কোপি—being angry.
গুণবান্ যদি...পর সদা—though the enemy is meritorious and the friend is devoid of any merit, the friend is desirable rather than the enemy who is always an enemy.
ভূধর শরীরে—down the body of a mountain.
জননী যেমতি etc.—as the mother drives away mosquitoes with the motion of her lotus-like hand, from her sleeping son.
প্রহারক—one who strikes.
চতুর্ভুজে—in the four hands.
চতুর্ভুজ—i.e. Vishnu. সুদিবা—Heavenly.
নিষ্ফল—(1) (In the case of Meghanada) Devoid of any glow. (2) (In the case of the Moon) Devoid of her কলা or digits.
কলাধর—The Moon.
