The Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) has launched a consultation to help create and prioritize WMF strategy beginning July 2016 and for the 12 to 24 months thereafter. This consultation will be open, on Meta, from 18 January to 26 February, after which the Foundation will also use these ideas to help inform its Annual Plan. (More on our timeline can be found on that Meta page.)
 
Your input is welcome (and greatly desired) at the Meta discussion, [[:m:2016 Strategy/Community consultation|2016 Strategy/Community consultation]].
 
Apologies for English, where this is posted on a non-English project. We thought it was more important to get the consultation translated as much as possible, and good headway has been made there in some languages. There is still much to do, however! We created [[:m:2016 Strategy/Translations]] to try to help coordinate what needs translation and what progress is being made. :)

Hello! My javascript console warns me continuously of <code><nowiki>init_setting is not defined</nowiki></code>. It comes from [[:Mediawiki:PageNumbers.js]], but I've seen that a similar script is imported from oldwikisource ([[:oldwikisource:Mediawiki:PageNumbers.js]]) from [[:Mediawiki:Common.js]]. The name translates in English as ''Welcome Committee Bot'' as the welcome message will be delivered on behalf of the project's welcome committee. I plan to manage this bot under the tools.welcomebots-bn service group so it will be later managed with more than one operator to make sure it runs continuously without any malfunction. My other bot will be from now on will be used just for maintenance tasks. :Personal welcome from a regular user gives the new user a personal touch, he feels more welcome, does not hesitate to get in touch of the person giving welcome in case of difficulties. In English Wikisource, welcome is personalised. Here also, it is currently personalised. I am not in favour of making it mechanised, which it will be, if given by a bot. Wikisource is a small community, not crowded like Commons or Wikipedia; here the human touch has more relevance. Moreover, it is not that we are getting a new user every few minutes! ::: Hi, first of all I won't send automated welcome message if the community raises objections against this. You are absolutely correct about the personal touch to a human being from a human. Although historically it is proven to be more helpful to send automatically welcome messages to new users. You see a very few amount of new users on recent change page, but a lot of new users get their accounts created automatically which you don't see there. Usually a new user spends a few minutes to browse the pages of a wiki and within those moment if you deliver a welcome message (well structured welcome template) it will be extremely helpful to give that user proper guidelines and inspiration to contribute. You can always send a new user another welcome message with a personal thanks after the first edit, but that pointer will always be helpful to have. A new user cares more about proper starter and a personal careful touch will help to retain him/her. That is how it usually works. What I just said, is based on statistical output and not just my own research (if you believe me). Also a historical note, this wiki used automated welcome message before and it worked without objection. So, it's up to you to decide. সুধী, আশা করি আপনারা সকলেই [[:meta:100wikidays|১০০উইকিদিবস]] সম্বন্ধে অবগত। [[:meta:User:Spiritia|ভাসিয়া আতানোসোভা]] মূলতঃ উইকিপিডিয়ায় প্রতিদিন একটি করে নিবন্ধ তৈরি করার জন্য ব্যক্তিগতভাবে এই প্রকল্প চালু করেন। এই প্রকল্প অনুযায়ী অংশগ্রহণকারীরা টানা ১০০ দিন একটি করে নিবন্ধ তৈরি করবেন বলে নিজের কাছে শপথ করেন। এখনো পর্যন্ত বিভিন্ন ভাষার ১১৭ জন উইকিপিডিয়ানরা এতে অংশগ্রহণ করেচেন যার মধ্যে ৪৩ জন তাঁর শপথ পূরণ করতে পেরেছেন।
 
ঠিক একই ভাবে আমরা বাংলা উইকিসংকলনে ১০০প্রুফরিডদিবস চালু করতে পারি। এই সংক্রান্ত নীতিমালার খসড়া নীচে দিলাম:-
# অংশগ্রহণকারীকে প্রতিদিন কোন উপন্যাস বা প্রবন্ধের যে কোন একটি করে সম্পূর্ণ পরিচ্ছেদ বা একটি কাব্যগ্রন্থের সম্পূর্ণ কবিতা প্রুফরিড করতে হবে।
# কোন বইয়ে কোন পরিচ্ছেদ না থাকলে এক দিনে সম্পূর্ণ বই প্রুফরিড করতে হবে। সাধারণতঃ ছোট বইয়ের ক্ষেত্রেই এমনটা ঘটে তাই কোন অসুবিধা হবে না।
# ভ্যালিডেশন বা বৈধকরণ গ্রাহ্য হবে না।
# যে অংশ প্রুফরিড হবে, অবশ্যই সেটিকে ট্রান্সক্লুড করতে হবে।
# একদিন প্রুফরিড বাদ পড়লে আবার নতুন করে এই চ্যলেঞ্জ শুরু হবে। পুরাতন কৃতিত্ব গ্রাহ্য হবে না।
# যেহেতু এটি একটি ব্যক্তিগত প্রকল্প যেখানে অংশগ্রহণকারী নিজের কাছে নিজেকে প্রমাণ করছেন, সেহেতু এটি কোন প্রতিযোগিতা নয়। ১০০ দিন সম্পূর্ণ হলে কোন পুরস্কার নেই ঠিকই তবে আন্তর্জাতিক ১০০উইকিদিবস সম্প্রদায়ের প্রাক্তনীদের মধ্যে তাঁর নাম থাকবে। তিনি যদি উইকিম্যানিয়ায় যান, তবে প্রাক্তনীদের এক সম্মিলনে তিনিও যোগ দিতে পারবেন।
